If you are not comfortable with Technology I do not want you to worry. You will be able to conduct business with the Nelson County Clerk Office like you have  in the past. This experience will be faster and you will be finished more quickly because of technology, but you will not have to interact that way unless you want to. There are so many of you who have expressed concern in this area, so I wanted to let you know. The service side of business will only be enhanced with any technology changes that are made. I know how to use technology, the clerks will be trained to use the technology and this process will be as fast and friendly as is possible.

Technology gives us a chance to do things quicker and at our convenience.  Having access to public records on your own time is essential these days. One of the great things about technology is that once it is set up it is affordable and allows many opportunities that may not have existed before. Technology is necessary and vital to the Clerk’s Office and will be a priority for me.

Another aspect of technology is safe, secure, accurate records available in a timely manner. The office of Nelson County Clerk will become the standard for using available resources to have technology for the citizens’ use. We are a community made up of different schedules, lifestyles, concerns and goals.

Every person who has access to the web should be able to conduct as much business as legally possible that way, if that is their choice. This will not be an easy transition, but is a necessary one. I will work hard to make all the available upgrades possible. Person to Person Customer Service will never be sacrificed. Technology will be available to those who want to use it. EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) will become available when possible and other areas will be updated where appropriate.
