Ideas From You

July 8, 2010

Time is a resource that you can not get back or make more of. We need to do the most with what we have. One of the differences between my opponent and myself is technology and our attitude. I embrace it. I am so excited about the possibility of saving you time and effort. Efficiency and accuracy will never be diminished. YOU will just get more time as we will use the internet, email and even a website to inform everyone who wants to use that medium. We will still be in the office, even more hours actually, and you can decide how you want to interact with the Clerk’s Office.

Hope everyone is having a great Summer.

Dwight

Please let me know what you think would be a good improvement, change or addition to the services offered in the Nelson County Clerk Office. I am hearing things as I talk to folks, but I wanted you to have another outlet to share ideas.

  1. Hello,
I am e-mailing with a complaint that I have with the Nelson County Clerk office. First, I would like to state that I am from Springfield, KY and work in Bardstown. I am not sure about the division of licensing part but I do know that people can transfer vehicles in different counties. Recently, (10/11/10) I needed to transfer a vehicle with Steven Stokes who is also from Springfield, out of convenience and the fact that both of us work in Nelson County and pay Nelson County taxes, I did not see a valid reason why the Nelson County Clerk Office would not transfer a vehicle for us. Neither one of us wanted to miss work so during our lunch, we both met at the Nelson County clerk office and tried to transfer a vehicle, not license it. We were told by Phyllis Mattingly that she would not service ANYONE from Jefferson County or Washington County. She asked one of the ladies in the office to “check the list” to make sure that Washington County was on it. Quote, she said, “No” not if they are from Washington County. How embarrassing was that! We were simply customers and did not deserve to be treated indifferent. Steven and I both looked at each other and were appalled that they would reject a customer. They were not busy, since we were the only customers. Since economy has went bad and a lot of public offices close early, we were going over here for convenience and to not miss work. Therefore, I had to leave work early and Steven had to miss work in order to get this done. I am very upset. I met Steven at the office in Springfield and spoke with Glenn Black. He says that he just transfered 4 vehicles on Sat (10/9/10) for Nelson County residence. He was not aware of any problems with the Nelson County division. Obviously, Ms. Mattingly and her comrades have a problem with surrounding counties and take it out on customers. Nelson County is losing money from those transfers and she is obviously blind to that since she has a grudge with Jefferson and Washington counties, there were more on the list but those are the only ones that I heard them speak of. I thought this information could be of some interest to you since you are running for office and could possibly make some changes. Please feel free to contact me if you need to verify any of this message. I hope you get in the Nelson County office and make the changes that are needed to service anybody that comes to your office. It would be absolutely great if you posted my information if the Nelson County paper! My personal contact number is 859-805-2113. I work at NPR Manufacturing, 380 Wilson Parkway, Bardstown, KY, 502-350-9270 Ext 123.
    Thank you,
    Debi Worthington
