Thank You to Everyone

November 3rd. Thank you. It stings a little, but I wanted to thank everyone for their support. The outpouring of positive was so generous that we are humbled beyond belief. God has a plan and God works his plan. Thank you to Michelle, Cole, Clay, and Zeke, you guys paid the highest price and I will never forget the support. I hope that each of you is blessed beyond belief and thank you again.

NOVEMBER 1st, 2010. Thank you for everything. Thanks for the phone calls, the notes, the support. The main thing is to get out the vote. Please vote tomorrow. This is a great County and I know that our services can be improved and updated. Please vote and please be careful. Have a great Election Day tomorrow.

Dwight

October 30th. Please vote. Thanks for all the support. Check out what takes no brains in the Standard on Sunday. Very interesting. Hope everyone has a great Halloween and that you get all the candy you can handle. Be careful and see you at the poles in 2 days.

October 27th, 2010. Please go and read the Political articles in the KY Standard today. Please compare my opponent and my answers about technology and Customer Service. Friendly and Accurate Customer Service has to be first in the County Clerk’s Office. It is an office of serving the citizens. Please vote on November 2nd.

Dwight

October 26, 2010. I am the ONLY candidate who has actual Technology Experience, I am the ONLY candidate that wants Friendly, Accurate Customer Service First, I am the ONLY candidate that wants to update the County Clerk’s Office now, not when possible. I am the ONLY candidate that is thinking about the future of Nelson County-not just the past. Please vote on November 2nd. I would appreciate you voting for Dwight C. Newton for Nelson County Clerk.

October 21st.  Well candidates finished where they started back in the spring. New Haven. Thank you to the great people of New Haven who put on a wonderful event. Thank you to those who came and participated. It was a disappointment to not get to answer questions last night. My race is not quite as controversial as some of the others. I do want to point out something though. I believe actions are the loudest indicator of what we do and will do. I believe that if you see people involved they will be, if you see people watching they will watch. I want to thank all of those who have already helped and those who will help us finish strong. I hope everyone in the whole county votes on Tuesday. Turnout is an indication of involvement. We all know that 20 percent do 80 percent of everything. I hope that Nelson County can have a turnout that gets noticed.

October 20th. 13 Days to Go. This is IT.  Please come out to New Haven tonight. Please vote. Please tell folks that the choice is between the past and progress. We are at a crossroads and Nelson County needs to move forward and be a leader. We have a great County, we have great communities in our county, and we need to have great County Offices. Nov. 2 is only thirteen days away. It may rain (that would be good for Nelson County) it may be cold, it may be a miserable day and it may be beautiful. PLEASE VOTE. You need to be represented. Thanks for everything.

October 12th. 2010. I am so blessed. Thank you so much for all the support, please keep getting the word out. We are in the final 3 weeks. We need all the word-of-mouth we can get. Please remember to vote on November 2nd.  Here is a link to an article from the Standard

October 4, 2010. Thanks to everyone who is helping along the way. Wickland was interesting on Saturday. During this election there have been a lot of misconceptions brought up. I want to address a couple that were brought to my attention.

1. NO Pay cuts for Clerk Office employees. If you are, or know a County Clerk Office employee, please pass this info on to them. There will NOT be a pay cut just because I am elected.

2. Changes in the office. First and foremost are the employees and the customers. Customer Service and Taxpayer satisfaction can be helped by the technology that already exists and SAFE, SECURE ACCESS will always be the rule.

There are differences in my opponent and myself, but a similarity is - NEITHER one of us has been the County Clerk, please keep that in mind. I hope to see you soon, and would appreciate your vote on November 2nd.

September 24, 2010. PLEASE REGISTER TO VOTE BY OCTOBER 4th. THAT IS THE DEADLINE. Everyone talks about being registered, but it is so important to actually participate. I have spent the last few days going over the precinct numbers in Nelson County. It is very disturbing how few actually vote. Being registered is the first part, but taking the time, 6 a.m. to 6. p.m (or later if there is a line) to vote twice a year, is something we should all do. I hope that you decide to vote for me, but more than that I want you to vote. We may not always have the ease of voting we have in America today.

Dwight

September 20, 2010. Bloomfield Was Great. Thank you to Susan and everyone else who helped with the conversations on Saturday night. Thanks to the Nelson County Gazette and Jim Brooks for moderating. Thanks to the candidates who did come out and the supporters and citizens who also attended the event.

I think that the citizens of Nelson County would be well served if they come out to hear the differences. There are many candidates, not as many original ideas, and plenty of politics. I hope that as these next few weeks go by that people of Nelson County – the whole county – will become more involved. It is easy and comfortable to be a “day after” nay sayer, it does take some effort to get out and see what is going on.

Dwight

September 10, 2010. New Hope, Bloomfield, Wickland, Fairfield andsoon. Can you believe that in Nelson County we are actually getting out in a community format.? Believe it. Please attend. This is the time to ask and be answered. This is the time to talk about the issues. I know that as I have talked andvisited with many of you there are questions and concerns. The debate schedule is out and should be published soon. I will put it on here as soon as I get the form.  Please vote on November 2nd. It will be here before you know it.

Dwight

August 31st. 9 weeks to go. Thanks to all the verbal supporters out there. There are a few things that I want to remind everyone. My opponent and I are different. We see the office differently and will take the office of County Clerk into the future differently. I am glad there is a website, I will have a working-hands on website. I am about Customer Service and meeting you where you are. I will have different office hours, more convenient office hours for those who work out of town. I will move the office forward with EFT and online (secure) deeds and plats. Please contact me if you have questions or comments.

Dwight

August 24th.   10 weeks to go. Thanks to all of you and your kind words. We are getting ready to start putting out signs. Please let people know. I just want to make sure that we all get out and vote. I would like their vote, but I would love them going to the poles to make the decisions that lead our county. My stance is pretty straight forward. Use technology, leadership ability, convenience and flexibility to make the Clerk’s office a service, not a chore. I want folks to get information – deeds, voter information, forms, tags and many other items at YOUR convenience. I look forward to serving you and Nelson County, please give me that chance.

Dwight

August 19th, 2010. Here we go Nelson County. Let the fun begin. If there is anything at all you need from me please let me know. If you get a card please read it and pass it on. If this is not for you that is okay, please VOTE , please let me know of issues or concerns you may have. We are getting ready to get in the heat of this and despite all the other races, the COUNTY CLERK office is one that CAN be improved. It affects each and every person in the county at some point in time and it needs CHANGE. The only way this can happen is to get the word out there. Thanks for all the support so far, and I look forward to talking to more of you in the coming weeks.

Dwight

August 3rd, 2010. The Boston Community Center gathering was great. It is certainly evidence of politics heating up in Nelson County. I appreciate Boston, and all of the people who came out to hear from the candidates. It was nice to have so many there. I know that there are going to be all kinds of promises made and accusations thrown around. If there is anything you want to know about me or that you hear about me, please bring it to me. In this day of instant media, it can get out of hand very quickly. On that note, I would like to thank all of the people who have said they are supporting me, but I need your help between now and Nov. 2 too. I need you to point people to this site, I need financial support, we have a HUGE County and I want to do everything I can, everywhere I can. I hope all of you are having a great August and I look forward to seeing you between now and Election Day.

Dwight

June 3, 2010. Thank you for being open and willing to talk about issues concerning the office. There are many different view points to consider, but one thing seems clear, that there are areas of opportunity to improve. One of the hardest things about this campaign is getting the message out. Please point people to the website. Please remember to check back periodically for announcements. There will be more things going on the closer we get to election day – November 2- 2010. I hope everyone has a great weekend coming up and that things are going your way.

Dwight

Technology, Flexibility, Full-Time Experience in Private and Public Sector Work, Budgeting, and Leadership. When you add those up there IS a Difference. Thank you for all those who have given their verbal support. I do need to ask you to consider helping out in other ways. Next week I will be setting up my campaign office downtown, and will have many opportunities. As I have stated earlier, one way to help is to make sure you are registered and know where you vote. Another way to help is to know your precinct name and number. I will be posting a map soon, but it is important information for you to have. Another thing I want to make clear – this is about giving people a chance to make a difference in Nelson County and to have someone who is different in this office. There will be no ill will coming from this camp. If something negative is said, please let me know personally and it will be addressed. I hope everyone understands. Thank you and I want to thank all of our service men, women and their families for their sacrifice on this Memorial Day.

Dwight

  1. I can imagine no one possessing greater integrity than Dwight Newton. He is a first-class, servant leader who will tirelessly seek solutions. He will not merely give lip service nor merely tell people what they want to hear. I am pleased that a man of such character is on the ballot this fall and will undoubtedly vote for him.

  2. What a debate. I hope that if you missed the Democratic Clerk Candidate Debate you will catch a rerun. All this week there are debates on PLGTv. Also this weekend on the 9th there will be a political section in the KY Standard. I hope that people will become informed and learn about the candidates.
